Boreham House Hailsham

Boreham House, a beautiful Grade II listed Georgian house built around 1796, is a luxury bed and breakfast set in lovely gardens with magnificent views across Sussex countryside. The three spacious rooms all offer sumptuous beds, fine linen and deluxe bathrooms. The house is close to many historical sites, such as the castles of Herstmonceux, Pevensey and Bodiam and only 6 miles from Battle where the Battle of Hastings took place in 1066. The towns of Eastbourne, Tunbridge Wells, Hastings and Lewes are within easy reach and Glyndebourne is only 25 minutes away, with the beach at Pevensey a 10 minute drive. This is an excellent base for those interested in fishing, walking, golfing or riding. There is an excellent pub just 100m from the house and many other very good restaurants close by. Just the place to rest, relax and escape!

By Car Boreham House is about 6 miles east of Hailsham and 6 miles west of Battle on the A271.Arriving from the EastYou will approach Boreham Street on the A271 up a hill. As the road levels off you will see the signpost for Boreham Street where a 30 mile per hour speed limit starts for the village. We are about 200 metres further on the right hand side - look out for the distinctive Yew hedge - the entrance to the courtyard for parking is just after the hedge. Note: if you reach the Bulls Head pub, you have gone about 100 metres too far!Arriving from the WestWhen you reach Boreham Street on the A271 drive through the village until you pass the Bulls Head pub on you right (you can't miss it). We are about 100 metres further on the left hand side - look out for the distinctive Yew hedge - the entrance to the courtyard for parking is just before the hedge.By Train Boreham House is approximately 10 minutes drive from Battle railway station. There are trains to London (Cannon Street , Charing Cross, London Bridge and Waterloo East) two or three times an hour. Pevensey and Westham station is about the same distance, with Eastbourne and Polegate stations being about a 20 minute drive away. There is an hourly train to and from London (Victoria) to those stations.By Air Gatwick Airport is about 1 hour by car from Boreham House. There is also a regular direct train service to Polegate and Eastbourne from the Airport. Polegate and Eastbourne stations are about 15-20 minutes away by car where taxis are available for hire if required.
